Book Review ~ The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss

 goodreads

I finally finished it!!
I just want to say; I didn’t read this book slow because I didn’t love it, I just didn’t have time and I wasn’t in the mood to read. I blame podcast…

Kvothe would have to be one of my favourite characters, and what’s good about this series (if that’s what it’s called with only two books out so far), you really get to love the “secondary” characters.
We are back with the old ones, Wil and Sim, who would forever be my favourites, but you are also introduced to new characters. Which is about time, I was starting to get bored that he was in one spot for too long and doing the same thing over and over again.
I’m not going to talk too much about it, I don’t want to spoil anything. Let’s just say, Tempi…

There were just two problems I had with, not only this book, but also The Name of the Wind.
One; I need more strong lead female characters. Yes, there are female characters in this story, but I felt like they were just that, background characters. I needed someone to take a lead and do something. I’m not making any sense, which is common, I’m just trying to say that I needed stronger women.
Two; I got a bit annoyed on the way Bast and Kvothe treat the Chronicler. They just seem rude and up themselves. They probably aren’t supposed to be like this, but that’s just how I felt.

Other than that, I really, really loved this book. A perfect fantasy novel.
Now hurry up Patrick Rothfuss with book three…
