I knew this book will get me out of this slump.
Okay, it did take me a while to get into it, not because the book was bad, I blame the slump.
After the second chapter (that’s right, it took me a long time to read two chapters), I got into the story and didn’t want to put the book down.
I love the concept of this story; decide between a quick death or slow poison.
Our main female character, Yelena, has to make this hard decision. She is in prison for murdering the son of a General, but instead of being hanged, she gets a choice.
I love Yelena, even though her life is constantly threatened, she is strong and a survivor. Of course, later on in the book you find out why this is. Let’s just say, there is a magical element to this world.
I don’t want to talk too much about this, I think the more I say I’m bound to spoil something. So do me a favour, pick this book up and read it, then we can talk about Valek…
I need to get the rest of the series as soon as possible, I need to know what will happen next.
